1. Acceptance of Terms
By booking an appointment, visiting our website, or engaging our services, you ("Client", "you", "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.
The Expat Chiro PTE LTD ("we", "us", "our", "the Clinic") reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Important Regulatory Disclosure
Unregulated Healthcare Service Provider
Chiropractic is NOT currently regulated in Singapore. The designation "DC" (Doctor of Chiropractic) is not a medical or dental qualification recognized by the Singapore Medical Council or Ministry of Health.
Dr. Erik Anderson DC holds a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from University of Western States (Oregon, USA), an accredited institution in the United States. This qualification does not grant the right to practice medicine, prescribe medications, or perform surgical procedures in Singapore.
Scope of Practice
Our services are limited to:
- Musculoskeletal assessment and evaluation
- Joint manipulation and mobilization
- Soft tissue techniques
- Rehabilitation exercises and movement coaching
- Postural and biomechanical analysis
What We Do NOT Do
We do not:
- Provide medical diagnosis
- Work with serious medical conditions (cancer, cardiac issues, infections, etc.)
- Prescribe medications
- Perform surgery or invasive procedures
- Provide emergency medical care
- Replace the need for medical doctors, specialists, or emergency services
Medical Emergencies: If you are experiencing a medical emergency (chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, etc.), call 995 immediately or go to the nearest hospital. Do NOT book an appointment with us.
3. Booking & Appointments
Online Booking
Appointments are booked through Jane App, our secure online booking platform. By booking an appointment, you agree to:
- Provide accurate personal and health information
- Arrive on time for your scheduled appointment
- Notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule or cancel
Appointment Confirmation
Booking an appointment does NOT constitute a guarantee of service. We reserve the right to refuse service if:
- Your condition is outside our scope of practice
- A referral to a medical doctor or specialist is more appropriate
- There are safety or ethical concerns
- Payment terms have not been met
First Visit Requirements
For your first appointment, you must:
- Complete our intake form (sent via Jane App)
- Provide accurate health history, including current medications and medical conditions
- Disclose any recent surgeries, imaging (X-rays, MRI), or specialist consultations
- Arrive 5-10 minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork
4. Cancellation & No-Show Policy
Cancellation Policy
We understand that schedules change. To cancel or reschedule:
- 24+ hours notice: Full credit or refund (no charge)
- Less than 24 hours notice: 50% of session fee charged
- Same-day cancellation: Full session fee charged
No-Show Policy
If you miss your appointment without prior notice:
- You will be charged the full session fee
- Future appointments may require prepayment
- Repeated no-shows (2+) may result in refusal of future bookings
Late Arrivals
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we reserve the right to:
- Shorten your session to accommodate the next appointment
- Reschedule your appointment (subject to availability)
- Charge the full session fee regardless of session length
Clinic Cancellations
If we need to cancel your appointment due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances:
- You will be notified as soon as possible
- You will be offered a priority rebooking slot
- No fees will be charged
5. Payment Terms
Session Fees
Payment is due at the time of service. We operate on a pay-per-session model with NO package commitments required.
- Private Care Sessions: Pricing as listed on our website or booking platform
- Corporate Sessions: Custom pricing based on agreement with employer
Payment Methods
We accept:
- PayNow
- Credit/Debit Cards (via Stripe)
- Corporate billing (pre-arranged accounts only)
We do NOT accept: Cash, cheques, or insurance direct billing.
Insurance & Claims
We do NOT directly bill insurance companies. However:
- We can provide you with an itemized receipt for your own insurance claims
- You are responsible for submitting claims to your insurer
- We cannot guarantee that your insurance will cover our services
- Payment is required at time of service, regardless of insurance coverage
Refund Policy
Refunds are issued only in the following circumstances:
- We cancel your appointment
- You cancel with 24+ hours notice
- Payment processing error on our end
Refunds are NOT issued for:
- Client dissatisfaction with care outcomes (outcomes cannot be guaranteed)
- Client-initiated late cancellations or no-shows
- Insurance denials or reimbursement issues
6. Clinical Care & Consent
Informed Consent
Explicit informed consent will be obtained at the beginning of each new care plan or when implementing a new treatment modality. However, consent is a continuous conversation between practitioner and patient throughout your care. This includes ongoing acknowledgment of:
- The nature of chiropractic adjustments and manual therapies
- Potential risks and benefits
- Alternative care options
- Your right to ask questions, express concerns, or withdraw consent at any time
Risks & Benefits
Potential Benefits: May include improved mobility, reduced pain, better function, and enhanced movement patterns.
Potential Risks: May include temporary soreness, muscle stiffness, headache, or fatigue. Serious complications (e.g., stroke, disc herniation) are extremely rare but have been reported in medical literature.
Contraindications: Chiropractic care may not be appropriate for individuals with certain conditions (e.g., severe osteoporosis, spinal fractures, cancer, infection, vascular issues). We will screen for these during your initial assessment.
No Guaranteed Outcomes
We do NOT guarantee results, outcomes, or specific improvements. Each individual responds differently to care. The number of sessions required cannot be predicted in advance and varies based on:
- Severity and duration of your condition
- Your overall health and lifestyle factors
- Adherence to home exercises and recommendations
- Individual response to care
Referrals
If your condition is outside our scope of practice or requires medical evaluation, we will:
- Refer you to an appropriate medical professional (GP, specialist, imaging center)
- Provide a written summary of our findings for your doctor (with your consent)
- Discontinue care until medical clearance is obtained (if necessary)
7. Professional Boundaries
Therapeutic Relationship
The relationship between you and the Clinic is strictly professional. Any behavior that violates professional boundaries, including but not limited to harassment, inappropriate conduct, or romantic/sexual advances, will result in immediate termination of care.
Dual Relationships
We do not provide care to individuals with whom we have a pre-existing personal, business, or romantic relationship, as this may compromise professional judgment.
8. Privacy & Data Protection
Your personal and health data is protected under our Privacy Policy, which complies with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
By using our services, you consent to:
- Collection and storage of your health information in Jane App (cloud-based, Australia)
- Use of AI Scribe technology for clinical documentation (audio deleted after transcription)
- Disclosure of your information to healthcare partners (specialists, imaging centers) as necessary for your care
9. Limitation of Liability
Services Provided "As Is"
Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:
- The suitability of our services for your specific condition
- The accuracy of any assessments or recommendations
- The achievement of specific outcomes or results
Limitation of Damages
To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, The Expat Chiro PTE LTD and its practitioners shall NOT be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of income, business opportunities, or quality of life claims
- Aggravation of pre-existing conditions
- Damages exceeding the amount paid for services rendered
Client Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate health information
- Disclosing changes in your medical status
- Following post-session care instructions
- Seeking emergency medical care when appropriate (do NOT rely on chiropractic care for emergencies)
10. Website Use & Booking Platform
Jane App Third-Party Platform
Our booking system is powered by Jane App, a third-party service. By using Jane App to book appointments, you agree to their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Website Disclaimer
The information on our website is for general informational purposes only and does NOT constitute:
- Medical advice or diagnosis
- A substitute for professional medical consultation
- A guarantee of specific outcomes
Always consult a licensed medical doctor for serious health concerns.
11. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the provision of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
Mediation & Arbitration
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through mediation before pursuing litigation.
12. Termination of Services
Client-Initiated Termination
You may discontinue care at any time for any reason. No refunds will be issued for services already rendered.
Clinic-Initiated Termination
We reserve the right to discontinue care if:
- You fail to comply with payment terms
- You exhibit disrespectful, abusive, or threatening behavior
- You repeatedly miss appointments without notice
- Your condition requires medical referral and you refuse to seek medical evaluation
- Continuing care would be unsafe or unethical
In such cases, we will provide written notice and, where appropriate, offer referrals to alternative providers.
13. Miscellaneous
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and The Expat Chiro PTE LTD regarding the use of our services.
Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
